FERRIS FALLS LATE TO NO. 1 PALESTINE
Ferris (17-6-2) soccer, tied 2-2 with 20 minutes remaining in Longview, witnessed No. 1 ranked Palestine (34-0) score four times in the final 14 minutes to eliminate the Yellowjackets in the Class 4A regional semi-finals on a stormy Friday. The Wildcats then ousted Terrell (16-10-3), 2-0, on Saturday in the regional finals to advance to the state championship game. They will face the Progresso Red Ants in the final on April 18. Ferris equaled the farthest the Stingers had ever advanced. Head Coach Erik White praised Palestine. “Yes, Palestine was that good,” he said afterward.
