The Ferris Yellowjackets scrimmaged the Palmer Bulldogs last weekend at Yellowjacket Stadium, where Palmer Head Coach Don Waddle and Ferris Head Coach Brandon Layne saw plenty to like in their squad’s first performance of the new season. Palmer edged Ferris, 14-0. Neighbors can be rivals or good friends, or in the case of Ferris and Palmer, very convenient for an annual pre-season, football scrimmage. Last weekend’s tussle in the heat brought with it a comforting wind that allowed both teams to get what they wanted from their toil in the sun.
