Tenaya McCray – Making up for a slow start, the Ferris girls basketball team has risen to third place in District 17-4A. An impressive 59-52 win at home on Tuesday over Alvarado (16-13) gave the Yellow Jackets a sweep of the season series. Second year varsity Head Coach Melissa Fulmer, a native of Tahlequah, Okla., has seen her squad begin by dropping four of their first five games, and were 8-10 when league games began on Dec. 7.
